Nathaniel Boyle
Founder, Storyteller. Building a creative, curious life one journey at a time.
Every journey begins with a single question, and at Holocene, we believe the most important ones are the ones that lead us inward. Our community is built for the curious and the creative—those who refuse to settle for surface-level living and instead seek out stories that challenge, inspire, and transform. We gather travelers of the mind and spirit, people who understand that exploration isn't just about distant places but about the uncharted territories within ourselves. Here, you'll find a space that honors the messy, beautiful process of becoming, where every detour is part of the path and every question is an invitation to dig deeper into what it means to be alive.
The toolkit we offer is not a set of rigid instructions but a collection of prompts, practices, and perspectives designed to spark your own creative experiments. We draw from the raw materials of real human experience—conversations had around campfires, insights gleaned from long walks, and the quiet revelations that come when we finally slow down enough to listen. Our approach is hands-on, grounded, and unpolished, favoring authentic expression over curated perfection. Whether you're journaling through a difficult transition, mapping out a new project, or simply trying to see the world with fresh eyes, these resources are meant to meet you where you are and nudge you gently toward where you might go.
The podcast exists as an audio diary of sorts, capturing conversations with people who are actively shaping their lives around curiosity and intention. Each episode peels back the layers of a different story—artists, builders, wanderers, and thinkers who have chosen to live in alignment with their deepest values. These are not polished interviews with rehearsed talking points; they are real, meandering dialogues that embrace uncertainty and contradiction. We talk about failure as often as success, doubt as often as conviction, because the creative life is not a straight line. Listen in when you need a reminder that you are not alone in your searching, and that the most interesting paths are rarely the most obvious ones.
At its heart, Holocene is a collective—a loose network of fellow travelers who share a common language of wonder and a commitment to living deliberately. Membership here means more than accessing content; it means joining a conversation that spans time zones and backgrounds, united by a shared appetite for meaning. We gather in small groups, share our experiments and failures, and hold space for one another's unfolding stories. There are no gatekeepers, no experts dispensing wisdom from on high. Instead, we learn by doing, by sharing what we discover along the way, and by recognizing that the most profound insights often arrive not in solitude but in the company of others who are equally lost and equally determined to find their way.
Hey there.
From the fortunate age of five, I fell in love with travel for its ability to inspire and transform the self. So I consciously built a creative entrepreneurial career as a speaker and storyteller that’s afforded me the ability to travel, explore, learn, and share.
I have a profound love of solo-travel, but I’m also the husband to an amazingly supportive woman and the father of a beautiful baby girl. These two loves deeply shape how I think about curiosity, creativity, and what it means to live a good story.
Holocene grew from a simple belief: that curious, creative travelers need a place to gather, swap stories, and keep exploring together. That belief is now a global membership platform with a podcast, a Slack community, and a steady flow of stories from the road.
